Current volunteering opportunities at the Benzo Research Project
Do you want to make a difference for young people in the UK? Are you interested in drug research, drug policy, and advocating for harm reduction?
Every role at the BRP is voluntary (unpaid) and fully remote. We ask for a committment of 3 hours per week to your team. You can expect to work on real, impactful projects like our lived experience report, with regular meetings with your team to discuss progress and strategise. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate across teams and with external organisations that align with our aims.
We especially welcome applications from young people, those with lived experience of benzo and/or other drug use, neurodivergence, mental health condition(s), and other marginalised identities.
We welcome applications all year round, and recruit on a rolling basis. If you would like to join before our 2025 Annual General Meeting, please apply by 12 pm, 1 November 2025.
Creating content on benzo harm reduction, mental health and drug policy for young people across our social media platforms.
Collecting, analysing, and disseminating data to understand young people who take non-prescription benzos.
Analysing and disseminating information on evidence-based policies aiming to reduce non-prescription benzo-related harms for young people.
Help with the day-to-day operations of BRP, including secretarial tasks, supporting fundraising efforts, and maintaining good governance.
Support the implementation of BRP's 3-year strategy, assessing key impact areas and ensuring alignment with our mission.
